Mr. Costoiu, minister for research, learned about Steinbeis

Forschungsminister Costoiu mit Delegation aus Rumänien in Stuttgart; 09.04.13
Arbeitssitzung im Wirtschaftsministerium

08./09.04.2013: The high-level scientific delegation from Romania visited Stuttgart. The delegation, leaded by the Minister of Research, Mihnea Costoiu, and Secretary of State, Tudor Prisecaru, want to bring best practices from Baden-Württemberg to Romania. Fraunhofer IPA and the Steinbeis Danube Centre organized the program and convinced. With them: rector of Politehnika Bucharest, Prof. Darie, and the president of the Association of Software and electronics industry, Mr. Borcea.

Romanian companies are not very innovative. In cooperation between universities and industry, the country is ranked 115 in the world standards (see Global Competitiveness Index 2011). The reasons for this are manifold. In any case, visitors and hosts are unanimous: the situation can and must be improved. A Fraunhofer Institute will be located in Bucharest. A Danube Transfer Center by the Steinbeis model is already in development. In addition to the experience of Steinbeis in that ongoing Pilot Project, technology transfer  will be promoted in Romania nationwide.

Next meetings are agreed on the Danube Education Forum in Alba Iulia (11./12.04.13), at the JRC meeting in Bratislava (16.05.13) and at the international conference "Agriculture for Life, Life for Agriculture" in Bucharest (05.-08.06.13).
