Areas of Excellence in the Danube Macro-Region

On the occasion of the informal meeting of foreign ministers of the Danube region in Bucharest (07, 08/11/11) and important actors in the Danube strategy met for the Danube Economic Forum. This high-level event was organized by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Council of Danube Cities and regions and our Steinbeis Danube center.

The topic chosen to match was: "Areas of Excellence" mainly from Baden-Württemberg wich must be created in South Eastern Europe. The progress in the implementation of the strategy were discussed in great detail in general, but also through concrete projects. Working groups "Connectivity" and "Competitiveness and Innovation", are deeper issues wich contribute to a better understanding of the programme. The strength of the Council of Danube Cities and Regions is to know what is needed at local and regional level.

Veranstaltng Fraunhofer IPA signed with our Steinbeis Danube center the Memorandum of Understanding on joint projects to develop technology transfer and innovation in the Danube region.
